How it works:The 2025 F1 Round Pin represents a refined, high-performance design that played a key role in Yago Dora’s 2025 World Title victory at Lowers. To celebrate his championship season, Lost Surfboards is releasing Yago’s personal Round Pin version of the newly updated FORMULA-1 ahead of its official Fall ’25 release.

First gaining recognition over a decade ago under Julian Wilson, the F1 has now been fully reworked from the ground up. The redesign was sparked during a team trip to Lowers, where surfers were riding a selection of classic boards while filming Lost’s upcoming USED movie. Among those boards, two F1s from Julian’s 2010–2011 quiver stood out and inspired the team to bring the model back, rebuilt with a contemporary approach. Lost’s designers tracked down the original digital file of Julian’s iconic “Clown” Lowers board and analyzed it alongside the current Driver 3.0 team model. By merging essential elements from both the outlines and rocker profiles, they developed a new performance platform that honors the original design while aligning with the needs of today’s top-level surfers.

The first test boards were produced with squash tails and distributed to Cole Houshmand and the local crew. Cole immediately put the board into competition, achieving strong results in El Salvador and at Lowers, before claiming a WCT victory in Brazil—confirming the direction of the revamped F1 was spot on. Shortly after, a limited run of Round Pin versions was made. Yago Dora received one during the Lowers event, surfed it the evening before Finals Day, and quickly gained enough confidence to ride it in both his Semi-Final and Final heats. He went on to win the event on that very prototype, which ultimately became the F1 (2025) Round Pin.
