Orzán Cleanup — Jan 18

Beach Cleanup in Orzán (A Coruña): first volunteer event of the year
This morning, we held our first beach cleanup of the year with the invaluable help of volunteers committed to sustainability and environmental protection. The activity took place at Orzán Beach, in A Coruña, an iconic space that needs the support of the entire community.
Initial waste assessment
Upon arrival, the tide line looked surprisingly clean. However, as we walked across the sand, we found a considerable accumulation of debris in the area near the promenade, especially waste left behind by beachgoers.
Bottles, cigarette butts, and urban waste
Instead of materials washed up by the sea, we mainly found urban waste: remains from drinking parties, cigarette butts, and other trash. The activity highlights the importance of raising awareness about how our habits directly affect the natural environment.
28.51 kg removed in one hour
Thanks to the effort of our volunteers, we managed to remove 28.51 kg of waste in one hour, an amount that demonstrates the need to continue promoting these types of actions.
Thank you for joining in
We thank everyone who dedicated their time to cleaning the beach. Their participation not only physically improves the beach but also helps in understanding the issue of waste and the impact of our lifestyle.
Continue supporting our activities and participate in future actions for the care of the planet.
