LOCAL FRIDAY MANIFESTO
Every Black Friday, we generate an enormous consumption footprint. Hundreds of millions of tons of purchases, many produced in unsustainable ways for people and the planet—and a lot of them, we don’t even need. Add to that the massive amount of emissions from transporting all these goods.
All of this leaves behind a trail of precariousness and pollution that we can work together to avoid.
At VAZVA, we want to help those who seek a balance in conscious consumption, which is why we’ve created this initiative. An initiative in collaboration with other brands that share our vision of the world—and hopefully, many more will join.
If you’re going to shop this Black Friday, make it meaningful.
More necessary, better.
When we buy only what we truly need, we’re not just saving resources and preventing unnecessary pollution—we’re rethinking our way of living and its consequences. We become more aware and, above all, empowered.
The more power lies with people who want to do things right, the better for everyone.
Closer, better.
You hold the power to generate well-being in your community. Isn’t that great? Quality jobs that respect human rights, enabling people to reinvest in others. And together, we save millions of tons of CO₂ in transportation—a crucial step if we want to continue living on this planet. Choosing local production is a win-win.
More informed, better.
If we want the money we work hard to earn to end up in the right hands, the best thing we can do is stay informed. We know some brands engage in greenwashing, undermining our trust. But if you stop seeking information, the bad actors win—and that’s the last thing we want, right? So, let’s hold them accountable.
More durable, better.
Quality creates quality. In this case, garments that not only look good but also make you feel good because they stand the test of time. They don’t force you to buy replacements—saving the planet from more pollution, no matter how sustainable the production is. This might be one of the most crucial criteria we need to adopt.
More impact, better.
What are brands truly doing to create a positive impact? Asking this question—both ourselves and them—is the first step toward making real contributions. We need activism not just from individuals but from businesses, too.
